Research Program
I am a cross-cultural researcher and developmental psychologist working to understand how children's thinking and behaviour is shaped by their social and cultural environments. To do so, I work with different communities around the world to understand how community values and social norms shape children's development.
I have worked with communities in Australia, Vanuatu and South Africa to try and understand how children's problem-solving, innovation and moral development are shaped by the people around them.
I am currently working at the University of Leipzig, Germany, in the 'Children and Nature (CaN)' lab, led by Professor Katja Liebal and Professor Daniel Haun. The CaN lab seeks to understand the mechanisms that foster children's attitudes and relationships with nature. I am also affiliated with the Comparative Cultural Psychology department at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Germany.
Hi, I'm Karri. I'm an Australian researcher currently living in Germany. I am an avid nature-immerser - when I'm not researching, I'm seeking out ways to connect with the diverse landscapes and biospheres my local spaces have to offer. I am interested in hearing about new ideas, collaborations, or opportunities for outreach. If you would like to get in touch, you can find me on the following: |
